About this tool

We got tired of photos that won't open.

If you've ever been sent a photo, tried to open it on your computer, and gotten a useless error message instead of a picture — this site is for you. It happens constantly: someone takes a photo on their iPhone, sends it over, and the person on the other end can't open it. Nothing's actually wrong with the photo. It's just saved in a format called HEIC that a lot of computers and websites can't read.

My Pics Don't Work exists to fix that one annoying problem as fast and as simply as possible. Drop in the photo that won't open, and get back a JPG — the format that opens on every device, every email, and every website. No accounts, no software to install, no waiting.

Why it's private

Most online converters upload your photos to their servers to do the work. We thought that was unnecessary and a little uncomfortable — your photos are personal. So we built this tool to run entirely inside your own browser. Your pictures never get uploaded, never get stored, and are never seen by us or anyone else. The moment you close the tab, they're gone. You can read the details on our privacy page.

What it handles

The tool automatically detects the format of whatever you drop in and converts it to JPG. It works with HEIC and HEIF (the iPhone formats), plus PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, and BMP. You can convert one photo or a whole batch at once, and choose the quality of the result.

Free, and staying that way

The tool is free to use. To cover the cost of running the site, we may show ads or offer optional upgrades down the line — but the core job of turning a photo that won't open into one that does will always be free.
